A standard, or non air integrated, computer monitors all the essential information you need for a dive. Depth, time, no decompression time and other information are displayed, but you will still need to check your pressurge gauge for your remaining air. Most computers are now Nitrox compatible, and will show the additional nitrox information as required.
An Air Integrated Dive Computer secures directly into your regulators first stage, either via HP hose or Digital Pressure Sensor and Transmitter, and this then enables the diver to monitor their Air Pressure on their computer throughout their dive. This monitoring of the divers air and its usage allows the Air Integrated Dive Computer to calculate the divers fitness and work rate (based upon standard consumption models) and adjust decompression data accordingly.
