Dive Rite has announced a voluntary recall on select Over Pressurisation Valves (OPV) or dump valves. The recall involves any Dive Rite wings manufactured between June 2006 and October 2008, excluding EXP and 360-branded wings, lift bags and SMB’s.
Similar to other recalls regarding OPVs, on affected wings rusting could cause the spring to weaken and fail.
“To identify if your wing is subject to this recall, unzip the outer bag and see if the inner bladder is opaque white or black. Any wing with a black bladder is not affected.
If your wing was purchased between June 2006 and October 2008 and has an opaque white bladder, a simple inspection of the OPV valve will determine if you need a replacement spring. Replacing the spring does not require tools and can be done easily on your own. However, if for any reason you do not want to do this, your local Dive Rite Retailer can inspect your wing and replace the spring for you.”

The spring on the left is in good condition. The other two need to be replaced.
